He would regularly participate in funerals and constantly pray for the deceased during and after the funeral. The people present felt as though the Imam was interceding for the fortunate person, and having them forgiven by Allah.[1]
The importance of praying for your parents, teachers and other Muslims
O devotees of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan! We too should adopt this practise and pray for our parents, teachers, relatives and the entire Muslim ummah. Sayyiduna Abu al-Shaykh Asbahani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has reported from Sayyiduna Saabit Bunaani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه:
It has been mentioned to us: Whoever prays for the goodness of Muslim men and women, on the Day of Judgement, when he will pass by there gatherings, it will be said: This is the one who prayed for your goodness in the world. They will intercede for him and with the permission of Allah, will take him to Paradise.[2]
It is mentioned in the Quran:
وَ اسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْۢبِكَ وَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِؕ-
and O Beloved, seek forgiveness for the sins of your special and common believing men and women.[3]
It is mentioned in a Hadith: The final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم heard someone say اَللّٰھُمَّ اغْفِرْلِيْ [i.e. O Allah! Forgive me] The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: If you had included every Muslim in the supplication,
