Book Name:Hazrat Ayesha Ki Ilmi Shan

of lineage (family), I have not seen anyone more knowledgeable than the mother of the believers, Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha Siddiqa رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا.”[1]

2.   Sayyiduna Abu Salamah رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ explains: “I have not seen a greater scholar than Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha Siddiqa رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا in the field of Hadith, nor found anyone else more of a faqih (jurist) than her in any matter in which an opinion is required.” He رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْه further said, “there was none besides her who knew more about the contextual background regarding the revelation of Quranic verses, nor was there anyone more proficient than her in the field of inheritance.”[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! In the light of the narrations we have just heard, it can be easily observed that by the special grace and mercy of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and favour of the final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, the mother of believers, Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha Siddiqa رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا had acquired high ranks of scholarship, juristic knowledge, expertise in Quranic sciences, and many other fields of knowledge. Whenever the honourable Companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْـهُم had any difficulty in understanding an Islamic issue, they would frequently visit her in order to quench their thirst for knowledge and have their issues solved.

Sayyiduna Abu Musa رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ has said: “Whenever we, the Companions of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, come across something complicated, we ask Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا about it and we find knowledge regarding it with her.”[3]

Elaborating on this blessed Hadith, Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه has said: “To this day, no honourable woman possessing such scholarly rank and juristic expertise has been born that can be compared to the mother of the believers, Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا. She رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا was a compendium of Quranic and Hadith knowledge, as well as a great muhadditha and a faqeeha (female jurist).”[4]
