each level of the sky, different Prophets had the honour of seeing and meeting with him, and they expressed utmost happiness at his arrival. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم then travelled to Sidra-tul-Muntaha, a tree at the very edge of creation. Sayyiduna Jibraeel عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم appealed to the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, explaining that he cannot go further than this point.
Look at the status of the miraculous Messenger صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He reached and went past such places nobody else can. Where nobody dared to go, the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم passed it by in an instant. Places nobody has the strength to reach, were all surpassed by him. In fact, his rank is so high, no intellect can ever understand or comprehend it.
So what else took place on that blessed night? We find that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم toured Paradise and the Hellfire, and observed many different events within them. He saw the blessings Allah Almighty has kept in Paradise, as reward for his nation, and he also saw the punishments some will be subjected to in the Hereafter. He was granted gifts from Allah Almighty that nobody ever received before, nor will ever receive in the future. Initially, he was granted 50 Salah from Allah Almighty, and these were eventually lowered in number, until we had the five daily Salah made obligatory upon us. But the greatest gift of all, was that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم saw Allah Almighty with his own blessed eyes.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم saw Allah Almighty on that night. The desire to see Allah Almighty was also present in the heart of Sayyiduna Musa عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم, until this desire came upon his blessed lips, and he asked from Allah Almighty by saying:
