The Du’a of Rajab

The following Du’a is Sunnah to recite. When the blessed month of Rajab would arrive, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would recite:
اَ للّٰھُمَّ بَارِک لَنَا فِی رَجَبٍ وَّشَعبَانَ وَبَلِّغنَارَمَضَان- ‘O Allah Almighty! Grant blessings for us in Rajab and Sha’ban, and allow us to reach Ramadan.’^[1]

The Glorious and Blessed Night

Dear Islamic brothers! اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ, the sacred month of Rajab-ul-Murajjab is on-going. It is this very month, in which Allah Almighty granted our master, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, a grand and unique Prophetic miracle, known as the Isra and Me’raj. The wisdom in this unique ascension, which passed the heavens and skies, the amazing events that took place on that luminous night, the luminous celestial lights and blessings showered like rain within it; in the end, who can truly understand and explain the Me’raj of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم?

However, according to the best of our ability, some Madani pearls of knowledge will be discussed regarding this miraculous event. Please listen with full attention and focus your heart and mind. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه, the love of the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم will grow further and further within our hearts as we discuss his blessed Me’raj.

My master, the Imam of the Ahl-us-Sunnah, a great devotee of the Messenger, the reviver of Islamic sciences, Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه wrote a poem regarding the Me’raj of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, which is known as Qasidah Me’rajiyyah. In the first 12 couplets of this poem, the great Imam expresses profound love for the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and does so with the best of wording and poetic beauty. Let’s listen to a summary of these 12 couplets:

1.   On the night of Me’raj, the king and leader of Prophethood and Messengership, the master of the worlds صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم illuminated
