saw the lives of the true believers, and on the night of Me’raj, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه went to witness the price i.e. Paradise.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Another wisdom behind the Night Ascension
7. Another wisdom behind the Night of Me’raj as mentioned in ‘Durratun Nasiheen’, is that the earth and the sky had a dialogue with each other, so showing pride the earth said: I am superior to you, as Allah Almighty has blessed me with cities, rivers, streams, trees, mountains and many other things. The sky replied: I am superior to you because within me are the sun, moon, stars, skies, constellations, the ‘Arsh and Kursi, and Paradise. The earth said: I have within me the Ka’bah whose Tawaf is performed by the Prophets and Messengers, saints and common believers. The sky replied: I have Bayt-ul-Ma’moor within me whose Tawaf is performed by the angels and I have Paradise in me which is the abode of the sacred souls of all the Prophets and Messengers عَلَیۡہِمُ السَّلَام, all the saints and true believers رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ.
The earth said to the sky: The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم resided in me and implemented Shari’ah on me.
When the sky heard this it became incapable of answering further and became quite. The sky then humbly said to Allah Almighty: ‘O Allah Almighty! You are the One who helps those who are helpless when they ask You for help’, then the sky humbly said: ‘You are able call the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم towards me so that I can also be honoured in the way You have honoured the earth by his beauty.’ Allah Almighty answered this Du’a and granted this honour to the sky on the Night of Ascension.[1]
