Relating to this, one of the reasons Allah Almighty ordained for the Me’raj to take place, was to bring happiness and peace to the heart of the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

From the day the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stood upon Mount Safa and invited the disbelievers of Makkah to believe in Allah Almighty, some cursed people began to develop hatred against him, and they tried to harm and cause pain to the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. The Muslims began to be discriminated against and persecuted for their beliefs, with this increasing day by day. In this time, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was comforted by Sayyida Khadija رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهَا, his first blessed wife, and by Abu Taalib, his uncle. They were a means of great peace for him, during that difficult period.

Abu Taalib then passed away, ten years after the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم had announced his Prophethood. Not long after this, Sayyida Khadija رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهَا also passed away, and both individuals who brought comfort to the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم during this difficult time, were now no longer physically with him. Instead of refraining from their cursed transgressions and bad actions, the cruelty of the disbelievers of Makkah reached an even more extreme extent.

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم then travelled to Taif, in order to present the message of Islam to the people there. However, the unjust and evil actions displayed by the people of Taif towards the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم cannot be explained in words. Then imagine! In this situation, Allah Almighty called His beloved upon the journey of Me’raj, in order to bring peace, comfort and contentment to the heart of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. After going through so much, Allah Almighty did not want His beloved to be saddened by anymore hardship. The rank of our master صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is so unimaginably high, that the whole of creation seeks the pleasure of Allah Almighty, whilst
