4.   The Greatest and Holiest Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated, ‘The disease of the previous nations will spread amongst you, and it is jealousy and animosity, and it (i.e., jealousy and animosity is like a ‘razor’), however, this razor shaves faith, not hair. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you become believers, and you cannot become (complete) believers until you love one another. Shall I not tell you of that action which will strengthen love between you? Spread (the greeting of) Salam amongst yourselves.’ (Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal, vol. 1, p. 348, Hadith 1412)

Dear Islamic brothers! Through the above-mentioned Ahadith, we come to know that jealousy is so dangerous for one’s faith that it ruins faith just as an aloe ruins honey. We should also try to refrain from this internal malady because the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated, ‘People will remain in peace for as long as they do not have jealousy.’ In order to save ousrselves from malice & jealousy and to develop brotherhood and love, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has instructed us to spread (the greeting of) Salam. Therefore, we should also adopt the habit of saying Salam and shaking hand according to Sunnah, whenever we meet others. What is Pious Deed number 6 from the many Pious Deeds which was granted to us by Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ. Let us find out. Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ has stated, ‘Today, whilst coming & going to the office or returning home on the bus/train etc., or whilst walking through the roads, did you greet Muslims with Salam?’

May Allah Almighty grant us ability to act. اٰمین

Allah Almighty has encouraged us in the Holy Quran to greet one another with Salam, hence, He states:
