almonds? Even if this orphan kid manages to study, how would he eat such a pudding?’

Sayyiduna Imam Abu Yusuf رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه further reported: I kept attending the sessions of Sayyiduna Imam-e-A’zam Abu Hanifah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه and left going to the launderer’s place. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ blessed me. Such a time came that I was granted the post of chief justice in the Islamic kingdom. Once, Caliph Haroon-ur-Rasheed came to my house. He brought some food items too. He said, ‘This Halwah has been cooked in almond oil extract in a special way. This is such a dish which isn’t prepared often and is made for a special person.’ Having heard this, the words of Sayyiduna Imam-e-A’zam Abu Hanifah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه occurred to me and I smiled. Surprised, the leader of the faithful asked, ‘Why did you smile?’ I said, ‘My respected teacher, Sayyiduna Imam-e-A’zam Abu Hanifah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه said to my mother many years ago that her son would eat Halwah made with pure Ghee as well as Faloodah dessert.’ The words of my respectable teacher have come true today. Then, I told the caliph the whole account that occurred in my childhood. He became very surprised and said: Undoubtedly, knowledge benefits and helps one rise in both the world and afterlife. (Manaqib-e-Imam-e-A’zam p. 507)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                  صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! This parable consists of plenty of great pearls. For instance:

   *With their unique spiritual vision, righteous men can see things that will occur in the future.

   *The special attention of a teacher teaches an individual to be a well-mannered person.

   *The knowledge of Deen leads one to gain success in the world as well as the Hereafter; Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ makes the ruling elite obey Ulama.
