wealth for seven reasons.
۔1Knowledge is the inheritance of prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام and wealth is the inheritance of Fir’awns.
۔2Knowledge does not decrease if spent but wealth decreases when spent.
۔3Wealth is secured by knowledge but knowledge secures the one who has it.
۔4Wealth is left behind in the world but knowledge accompanies man to his grave.
۔5Both a believer and a non-Muslim have wealth but it’s only the believer who gains the knowledge of the Deen.
۔6All are dependent on an Aalim for their religious matters but not on the rich.
۔7Knowledge will strengthen the possessor while passing the Siraat Bridge but wealth will cause a barrier on it.
Sayyiduna ‘Allamah Ibn-e-Hajr Asqalani Shaafi’i رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has said: The glorious words of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ
رَّبِّ زِدْنِیْ عِلْمًا(۱۱۴)
‘O my Lord, bestow upon me more knowledge.’
