To gain guidance on matters related to both the religion and the world, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ orders us to consult Ulama. As is ordered in verse 7, Surah A-Ambiya, Parah 17:

فَسْــٴَـلُوْۤا اَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ(۷)

O people! Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.

The summary of the commentary of this verse as mentioned in Tafseer Siraat-ul-Jinan is: In this verse, the unknowledgeable people have been ordered to consult the knowledgeable people because there is no other way for the unknowledgeable except for consulting the knowledgeable, in order to get rid of their deficiency in knowledge. Further, the cure of the disease of ignorance is that one seeks an Alim’s advice and acts upon it accordingly. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has said in His noble book:

اِنَّمَا یَخْشَى اللّٰهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمٰٓؤُاؕ-

Only those amongst His bondsmen who possess knowledge fear Allah.

The summary of the commentary of this verse has been mentioned in this way in Siraat-ul-Jinan: Only the knowledgeable bondsmen of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ fear Him because they know His attributes and recognize His grace. The more one knows about the Being and attributes of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, the more he fears Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. The one lacking knowledge will lack fearing his Sustainer. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ will bestow Ulama-e-Kiraam with such a status that they will intercede for people. And they will be ordered, ‘Stand at the door of Paradise and intercede for the people.’ By virtue of knowledge, in this very world Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ bestows such bounties and
