The remaining some Sunnahs and etiquettes of giving Salam

*   The one who says Salam first is free from pride, as the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has said: ‘The one who says Salam first is free from pride.’ (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 6, p. 433)

*   Ninety mercies descend upon the one who says Salam first and ten mercies descend upon the one who replies. (Keemya-e-Sa’adat, vol. 1, p. 394)

*   One gets 10 virtues for saying السَّلامُ عَلَیکُم, 20 virtues if وَ رَحْمَۃُ اللهِ is further added, and 30 if وَبَرَکاتُہٗ is further added.

*   Similarly, one can get 30 virtues by saying وَعَلَیْکُمُ السَّلام وَ رَحْمَۃُ اللهِ وَ بَرَکاتُہٗ in reply.

*   It is Wajib [obligatory] to reply to Salam immediately in a voice audible to the one who says Salam.

*   Learn the correct pronunciation of Salam and the reply of Salam. First, I will say it; you repeat after me; اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیْکُمْ now I will say the reply and you repeat it after me; وَعَلَیکُمُ السَّلام

صَلُّوۡ اعَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                                صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
