صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic Brothers, اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه in the Bayan of today’s weekly Sunnah-inspired Ijtima’ today, we will hear the events and accounts of the modesty of our pious predecessors.
Even the angels feel shy of him
Umm-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyidatuna Aaishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا narrates, ‘Once the Merciful Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was lying on his bedding with my shawl around him. During this time, Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddeeq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ sought permission from Allah's Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to enter. He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم gave him permission and fulfilled his need. Then Sayyiduna Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ sought permission, he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم granted him permission and fulfilled his need and he also left, whilst the Holy Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم remained in the same state in the shawl.
Then Sayyiduna Usman رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ sought permission from him and heصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم sat up and said to Sayyidah Aaishah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا: ‘Take your shawl and cover yourself with it!’ Then Sayyiduna Usman رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ had his need fulfilled and he also left.
Umm-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyidatuna Aaishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا said: ‘O Allah's Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! You did not make arrangements upon the arrival of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna ‘Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُما as you did for Sayyiduna ‘Usman رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ.’
He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied: ‘Usman is a very modest person and I feared that if I permitted him to enter in that same state, then his need would not have be fulfilled (i.e., he would have returned without saying anything).’ (Muslim, p. 1307, Hadees 2402)
