other, the one who was martyred in an utterly cruel manner, the one who was extraordinarily generous, the one who was patient and kind, the one who was very modest, and the one who greatly loved the poor, the beloved of Allah Almighty and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, the third rightly-guided Caliph, Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen (the leader of the believers), Sayyiduna ‘Usman-e-Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, and this day is soon approaching. We will have the honour of listening to a commemorative account regarding his blessed life, conduct and character. First and foremost, we will listen to an account of ‘Usman-e-Ghani’s رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ love for the Holy Prophet. Alongside this, we will also listen to the religious services of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna ‘Usman-e-Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ and the Ahadees on his excellence. We will also gain faith-enlightening knowledge related to his love for the Holy Prophet. May Allah Almighty grant us the taufeeq to wholeheartedly listen to the speech from start to finish. Aameen

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

A unique manner of hospitality

It is written in the book of Maktaba-tul-Madinah ‘Sahabah Kiraam ka ‘Ishq-e-Rasool’ on page 53, ‘One day, Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna ‘Usman-e-Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ requested in the blessed court of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, ‘O Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, please visit my home along with your friends and eat what is present.’ The Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم accepted the invitation. Then, when the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم set off with the Blessed Companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم towards the home of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna ‘Usman-e-Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen ‘Usman-e-Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ walked behind the Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and began counting the blessed footsteps of the Blessed Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. The Master of Madinah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, ‘Usman! Why are you counting my footsteps?’ Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna ‘Usman-e-Ghani رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ requested, ‘O Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, may my mother and father be sacrificed for you! I want to free one slave in exchange for every footstep for the sake of your respect and honour.’ Hence, however many steps the Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم took until the house of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna ‘Usman-
