Virtues and Remembrance of Madinah
with blessings and if she passes away there, then she will become deserving of intercession.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
O devotees of the Prophet! Allah Almighty blessed the city of Madinah with countless specialities. To gain blessings, let’s listen to some specialities of blessed Madinah and create the means to increase the dignity of this sacred city further in our hearts.
Specialities of Madinah-e-Munawwarah
1. There is no city on earth that has as many names as Madinah. To the extent that some scholars have written 100 names for it.
2. Madinah-e-Munawwarah is such sanctified city that has most Qasidahs (Odes) written in its love and remembrance and in most languages of the world. This practice is ongoing and will continue.
3. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم migrated towards it and resided there.
4. Allah Almighty kept its name Tabah [طابہ]
5. When he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would come back from a journey and as he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would reach near Madinah, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would speed up his journey out of the love and passion for Madinah.
6. The blessed heart of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would feel solace in Madinah.
7. He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would not wipe off the dust of Madinah from his blessed face and would also forbid the blessed companions عَلَیْہِمُ الرِّضْوَان from doing so, and would say: ‘There is cure in the soil of Madinah.’ (Jazb-ul-Quloob, pp. 22)
