    In general conversation, people call it ‘Riyad-ul-Jannah’ but the actual word is ‘Rauda-tul-Jannah’.

    صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب              صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

    Sunan and manners of Miswak

    Let’s listen to Sunnahs and manners of Miswak from ‘163 Madani Pearls’ a booklet written by Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـه

    1. Offering 2 Rak’aat having performed Miswak are better than 70 Rak’aat without Miswak. (Attargheeb Wattarheeb, vol. 1, pp. 102, Hadees 18)

    2. Make the use of Miswak necessary upon yourself because in it is the cleanliness of the mouth and it is a means of attaining the pleasure of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. (Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal, vol. 2, pp. 437, Hadees 5869)

    ٭ Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی عَـنْـهُمَا has narrated that Miswak has ten qualities: It cleans the mouth, strengthens the gums, improves the eyesight, eliminates phlegm, eliminates bad breath, it is the observance of the Sunnah, angels become happy, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ is pleased.

    ٭ Miswak should be of Peelu or bitter wood such as olive etc. The thickness of a Miswak should be equal to that of the small finger.

    ٭ When a Miswak becomes unusable, one shouldn’t throw it away as this is a tool for acting upon a Sunnah. It should be placed somewhere with care

    To learn various Sunnah, obtain the following books, Bahar-e-Shari‘at part 16 comprising of 312 pages and Sunnatayn aur Adaab, comprising of 120 pages and 2 booklets of Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, ‘Allamah, Maulana, Muhammad Ilyas ‘Attar Qaadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ “101 Madani Pearls” and “163 Madani Pearls” and study them.
