Virtues and Remembrance of Madinah
If only Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also calls us in his blessed feet too.
If only we could also be blessed with beholding the beautiful green dome.
If only we could also be blessed with the privilege of reciting Durood and Salaam while standing in front of the blessed golden grills.
If only we could also meet our death with Iman and wellbeing in Madinah and get buried in Jannat-ul-Baqi’.
Remember! Dying in Madinah and being buried in Jannat-ul-Baqi’ is a very big privilege.
Excellence of dying in Madinah
The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:
مَنِ اسْتَطَا عَ اَنْ يَّمُوتَ بِا لْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَمُتْ بِهَا
Whoever among you can die in Madinah should die in Madinah, (فَاِنِّی اَشْفَعُ لِمَنْ يَمُوْتُ بِهَا) because I will intercede for the one who dies in Madinah.
(Tirmizi, vol. 5, pp. 483, Hadees 3943)
At another place, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: (On the Day of Judgement, when everyone will be resurrected from graves), then first my and then Abu Bakr’s and Umar’s (رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُمَا) graves will open. Then I will go to those buried in Jannat-ul-Baqi’ and they will gather with me. Then I will wait for the people of Makkah, to the extent that I will get them along with me in between Makkah and Madinah. (Tirmizi, vol. 5, pp. 388, Hadees 3712)
