یا خدا ماہِ رمضاں کے صدقے           سچّی توبہ کی توفیق دیدے

Dear Islamic brothers! Observe I’tikaf of the entire month of Ramadan every year if possible, otherwise observe it at least once in entire life. Our Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would abundantly perform worship especially in the blessed month of Ramadan. Since the night of Qadr has been concealed in the blessed month of Ramadan, our Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم once observed I’tikaf of the whole month. It is also a great privilege to stay in a Masjid; an I’tikaf-observing person is great because he frequently stays in a Masjid after leaving all his activities and occupations for attaining Divine pleasure.

It is stated in Fatawa ‘Aalamgiri: The virtues of I’tikaf are absolutely apparent because in it a person makes himself totally busy with the worship of              Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ for attaining His pleasure and keeps himself away from all the preoccupations of the world which are an obstacle in the way of closeness to Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. All the time of an I’tikaf-observing person is spent in offering Salah or similar to the act of offering Salah (because waiting for Salah also has the reward like Salah) and the real purpose of I’tikaf is to wait for Salah with Jama’at and I’tikaf-observing person resembles the angels who do not disobey the command of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and who carry out whatever commands they are given. He also resembles the ones who perform the Tasbih (glorify Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ) all the time and do not get fed up with it.
