for all of us to respect and revere the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. ‘Allamah Maulana Mufti Muhammad Amjad ‘Ali A’zami رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has said: The reverence for a Nabi is not only absolute Fard (obligatory), but it is also the essence of all the Fard acts. A little insult or denying any Nabi is Kufr. (Bahar-e-Shari’at, part 1, vol. 1, pp. 47)

اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه عَزَّوَجَلَّ, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ is also commanding us to respect and revere the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in the Holy Quran. In Ayah 9 of Surah Al-Fath, part 26, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has stated:

لِّتُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَ رَسُوْلِهٖ وَ تُعَزِّرُوْهُ وَ تُوَقِّرُوْهُؕ-وَ تُسَبِّحُوْهُ بُكْرَةً وَّ اَصِیْلًا(۹)

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: In order that, O people, you may believe in Allah and His Messenger, and honour and revere the Messenger (Rasool Muhammad).

Regarding the above-mentioned blessed Ayah, A’la Hadrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has stated: The most important thing is faith, because without faith, the reverence for Rasool is not acceptable. Reverence for Rasool is after faith as without reverence, no Salah and no worships are acceptable. Generally, everyone is the bondman of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, but the true bondman of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ is the one who is the slave of Mustafa صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Otherwise he will be the slave of Satan. اَلْعِیَاذُبِاللہِ تَعَالٰی (Malfuzaat A’la Hadrat, pp. 123)

Whereas, in Ayah 63 of Surah An-Noor, part 18, teaching the manner of calling out the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has stated:

لَا تَجْعَلُوْا دُعَآءَ الرَّسُوْلِ بَیْنَكُمْ كَدُعَآءِ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًاؕ-

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: Do not presume among yourselves the calling of the Noble Rasool equal to your calling one another.
