Pious Predecessors’ Hatred towards Backbiting

1. He does not care about the poor.

2. He is money-oriented.

3. Bootlicker

4. Flatterer

5. Spineless

6. Needlessly submissive

7. Pokes nose in every affair.

8. He is shameless; his cell phone was ringing in the Masjid today again.

9. He thinks he is very wise.

10. He is very selfish.

11. Self-centred

12. Such-and-such a person is not religious.

13. What are you talking about our Masjid’s Imam—he is on a salary.

14. Our Muazzin [or such and such a person] establishes relationship with the rich.

15. He is not a practising Muslim.

16. He lacks Islamic knowledge.

17. He does not even know how to offer Salah.

18. Such and such individual is more practising than him.

19. He advises the world, but does not advise his family members; that is why his daughter or sister or wife roams without any pardah (veil).

20. There are many people better than him.

21. He boasts

22. He praises himself a lot.

23. He loves listening to his praise.

24. He is on the road to fame.

25. He only does it for fame.

26. He wants to be praised.
