Book Name:Mah e Milad Mananay Walon kay Waqiyat

Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is that Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ will make them enter Jannat-un-Na’eem by His blessing and mercy. Muslims have always been holding Meelad gatherings, and out of happiness of the blessed birth of the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, they have been holding feasts and have been giving Sadaqah and charity in abundance. Expressing their sheer joy, Muslims go to great expense, decorate their homes and hold gatherings to do the Zikr of the blessed birth of the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. By virtue of all these good and virtuous deeds, the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ are showered upon them. (Masabata bis-Sunnah, pp. 155)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب           صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

 

Dear Islamic brothers! Let’s now listen to the unique styles adopted by devotees of the Beloved Rasool to celebrate Meelad in the month of Rabi’-ul-Awwal. People celebrate the month of Meelad with great enthusiasm and dedication.

King’s yearning for Meelad

The king of Arbal, Abu Sa’eed Muzaffar would celebrate Meelad every year with great enthusiasm in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. He would arrange a very large gathering of Meelad. A person who had attended these gatherings, has said: I saw 5000 heads of roasted goats, 10,000 hens, 100,000 bowls of Firni [i.e. a sweet dish] and 30,000 trays of halvah [i.e. also a sweet dish]. Many Islamic scholars and Sufis would attend the Meelad. The king would present them with expensive clothing and gifts. He would spend 300 thousand dinars on the gathering of Meelad every year. There would be guest houses for the guests on which he would spend 100 thousand dinars every year. He would spend 30,000 dinars on repairing the routes to the Haramayn
