Signs of love for the Beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

Imam Qastalani رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has mentioned the signs of love for the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم which will be presented to you briefly. Whoever adopts them will be a true lover of the Beloved Rasool, اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه عَزَّوَجَلَّ.

1.          Iqtida: The greatest sign of love for the beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is to obey him, to act upon his Sunnah, to follow his path, to seek guidance from his life and to abide by his Shari’ah. (Al-Mawahib, vol. 2, pp. 491)

2.          Be content with the Shari’ah: One of the signs of loving the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is that the one who claims love, should be content with the Shari’ah of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and should not face any hardship in his Nafs by the decision of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. 3.          To help the religion of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم: It is one of the signs of loving the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم that one should help the religion of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم through his sayings and actions, defend his Shari’ah and adopt his blessed life in generosity and follow his blessed way of living in the matters of forbearance, endurance, humility, etc. (Al Mawahib, vol. 2, pp. 494)

4.          Being patient on hardships: One of the signs of loving the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is also this that one should remain patient in times of hardships because the lover gets such a pleasure by this love that he forgets his hardships. (Al-Mawahib, vol. 2, pp. 495)

Sayyidi A’la Hadrat رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has beautifully said:

کیوں کہوں بیکس ہوں میں کیوں کہوں بے بس ہوں میں

تم ہو میں تم پہ فِدا تم پہ کروڑوں دُرود
