§  Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah Bin ‘Umar رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ used to immediately give his favourite thing in charity in the way of Allah. In his blessed life, he رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ freed 1000 slaves after he رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ had bought them.

§  Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah Bin Ja’far رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ was called ‘بَحۡرُ الۡجُوۡد’ [Bahr-ul-Jood] (due to being extremely generous) and ‘اَسۡخَي الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡن’ [Askhal Muslimeen] (the most generous amongst the Muslims) because of his generosity. (Karamaat-e-Sahabah, pp. 223)

Generosities of the pious saints

§  In his life, Sayyiduna Imam Zayn-ul-‘Aabideen رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه gave his entire wealth twice in the way of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. He رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه was so generous that he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه would send money to the poor inhabitants of Madinah Munawwarah in such a secret manner that these poor people had no idea from where the money used to come from. When he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه passed away, the poor learnt that it was the generosity of Sayyiduna Imam Zayn-ul-‘Aabideen رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه. §  Despite being poor, Sayyiduna ‘Azeezuddin Bin ‘Abdus Salam Sulami      رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه would give lots of Sadaqah. If a beggar came to him and he   رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه had nothing to give him, then he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه would give him some piece of his blessed ‘Imamah. (Tabqat-ush-Shafi’iyyah, vol. 8, pp. 214)

§  Sayyiduna Imam Muhammad Bin Hasan رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه was so wealthy that 300 people were keeping the accounts of his wealth, but he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه spent his entire wealth for the circulation and propagation of Islamic knowledge, even he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه did not keep any good clothing for himself.
