of abundance of blessings in the world and the Hereafter. The one celebrating Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم will be granted respect, blessing, goodness and glory, he will enter the Heaven wearing a turban of pearls and green robe, he will be granted countless palaces and there will be a Heavenly maiden in each palace. Recite Salat-‘Alan-Nabi صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in abundance and make it widely known by celebrating the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. (Majmu’ Lateef-un-Nabi, pp. 281) * Hafiz-ul-Hadees Imam Abul Khayr Muhammad Bin ‘Abdur Rahman Sakhaawi رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has stated, ‘Great blessings are showered upon the people by virtue of the act of celebrating the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.’ (Sabl-ul-Huda, vol. 1, pp. 363) * Sayyiduna Imam Ahmad Bin Muhammad Qastalani رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has stated, ‘Among the benefits of holding Milad in the month of sacred birth of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, it is proven benefit that the year turns out to be peaceful. May Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ have mercy upon the person who has conceived of nights of birth-month of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم as Eid.’ (Mawahib-ul-Ladunniyyah, vol. 1, pp. 148) * The saints, in their discourses have conveyed good news of Heaven for the people who celebrate Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. * Shaykh-e-Muhaqqiq Shah ‘Abdul Haq Muhaddis Dihlvi عَـلَيْهِ رَحْـمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ الۡـقَـوِی has stated, ‘The reward for those who celebrate night of the Blessed Birth of Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is, that Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ will grant them entrance to Jannat-un-Na’eem by His blessing and mercy. The Muslims have always been holding Milad gatherings, giving abundance of charity and alms preparing and giving feasts, to celebrate the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Expressing their sheer joy, they go to great expense, decorate their homes, hold gatherings to do the Zikr of the Blessed Birth of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ are showered upon them by virtue of all these glorious deeds. Sayings of scholars and the Muhaddiseen
v Sayyiduna Imam ‘Abdur Rahman Ibn Jawzi رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has stated, ‘This act (i.e. celebrating the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم) contains humiliation for Satan and strength for true believers.’ (Sabl-ul-Huda, vol. 1, pp. 363) * Imam Jalaluddin ‘Abdur Rahman Suyuti عَـلَيْهِ رَحْـمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ الۡـقَـوِی has stated, ‘The one celebrating the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم gains Sawab (rewards), for the celebration is an expression of joy and reverence to the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.’ (Al-Haawi lil-Fatawa, vol. 1, pp. 222) * The commentator of Sahih Bukhari, Sayyiduna Ahmad Bin Hajr ‘Asqalani رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has stated, ‘It is commendable for us to hold a congregation on the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to express our gratitude, give feast, carry out other virtuous acts and express our sheer joy.’ (Al-Haawi lil-Fatawa, vol. 1, pp. 230) * Sayyiduna Abu Musa Zarhooni رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه beheld the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in his dream, he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه humbly enquired about holding a congregation in celebration of Milad, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied, ‘مَن فَرِحَ بِنَا فَرِحْنَابِہ’ i.e. I get pleased with the one who gets pleased with me. 1. Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would celebrate his Blessed Birthday by observing fast on Mondays. You should also observe fast on 12th Rab-ul-‘Awwal in the blessed memory of the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
2. Take bath in the evening of the 11th or on the 12th night of Rabi’-un-Noor. If possible, buy everything new with the intention of reverence for the greatest of all Eids [i.e. the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم].
3. Do not do anything that violates human rights in celebration of Blessed Birthday of the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
4. On the happy occasion of the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, all the Islamic brothers and Islamic sisters should make an intention to spend their lives in compliance with sacred Sunnah.
5. On the happy occasion of the Blessed Birthday of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, hoist the green flags at Masajid, homes, shops. Illuminate immense lights but in a legal way by dealing legitimately with the power supply company.
6. In the Milad procession, try to remain in the state of Wudu as long as possible. Offer Salah with Jama’at.
