Surah Al Mulk Ayat 25-26 Translation Tafseer

Para 29 - تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِیْ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

67.25-26

وَ یَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ(25) قُلْ اِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ۪-وَ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌ(26)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And they say, “When will this promise come to pass, if you are truthful?” Say, “This knowledge is with Allah alone[1] and I am but a clear warner.”

Commentary

Only Allah Almighty knows when the Day of Judgement will occur without anyone having informed Him of it, and nobody can know of it without Him informing of it. This is the meaning of this verse, as the reality is that the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was granted knowledge of the Day of Judgement by Allah Almighty. To understand the vastness of the Prophet’s knowledge, reflect on the following Hadith: SayyidunāʿUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ states: “The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stood amongst us and informed us about the beginning of creation until he mentioned the state of those who will enter Paradise and those who will enter Hell.” (Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī; 3192)
