Surah Al Furqan Ayat 5 Translation Tafseer

Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

سورة الفرقان

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

25.5

وَ قَالُوْۤا اَسَاطِیْرُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ اكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِیَ تُمْلٰى عَلَیْهِ بُكْرَةً وَّ اَصِیْلًا(5)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And they said, “˹This Quran is just˺ accounts of the previous nations which he has written down,[1] so they are recited to him morning and evening.”

Commentary

The Makkan disbelievers would say that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم invented the Quran himself, and others had helped him too. They also claimed that it only contains the fictional tales of old like that of Rustam and Esfandiyar, which he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم had arranged to be written down by someone. In today’s age, there are some people who make similar objections. The response to this is that if this is true, then these people should match the Arabic eloquence of the Quran; they will realise in time whether it is the word of creation or the Creator.
