صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                          صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Greet with Eid Mubarak!

Dear Islamic brothers! The day of Eid is a day of happiness and blessing. Therefore, meeting on this day, saying Salam, shaking hand, and congratulating one another is a very good act. Sayyidunā Jubayr b. Nufayr رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ states that on the day of Eid, when the blessed Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم met each other, they would offer congratulations and say: تَقَبَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ [2]

The Eid of a Saint

Sheikh Najīb al-Dīnرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  was the brother and spiritual representative (Khalifah) of Shaykh Baba Farīd رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه. His title was Mutawakkil, which means one who trusts in Allah Almighty. Heرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  used to be so absorbed in the remembrance of Allah Almighty that (sometimes) he would not even know what day it was, what month was ongoing, or what the value of a coin was.

Once, on the day of Eid, many guests gathered at the house of Sheikh Najīb-al-Dīn رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه. It so happened that there were no food items available in his house that day. (Outwardly, this was a difficult situation. Naturally, if it is Eid, a time of joy, and guests arrive while a person has nothing... it causes worry and a person feels distressed. But these were the pious servants of Allah Almighty; they were those who had trust in Him. They had complete faith in Allah Almighty. He did not complain, nor did he say anything wrong, nor did he feel bad. So, what did he do?) He went to the upper floor of the house and sat
