Madani Pearls regarding BayꜤah (Spiritual Pledge of Allegiance)

Dear Islamic brothers! Here are some Madani pearls regarding bayꜤah:

1.In this world, one should appoint a pious person as their imām, and follow him in matters of ShariꜤah through taqlīd, and in matters of tarīqah through bayꜤah, so that one may be raised with the righteous on the Day of Judgement.^[1]

2.Becoming a murīd of a spiritual guide is a means of protecting one’s faith.^[2]

3.Taking bayꜤah at the hands of a shaykh who fulfils all necessary conditions is a Sunnah passed down through generations of Muslims. It contains countless blessings and benefits for religion, worldly life, and the hereafter.^[3]

4.A spiritual guide is appointed for matters of the hereafter, so that through his guidance and spiritual attention, the disciple avoids deeds that displease Allah and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and instead lives their life performing actions that earn the pleasure of Allah.^[4]

5.Whoever has already taken bayꜤah at the hands of a qualified shaykh should not take bayꜤah with another.^[5]
