Book Name:Sharm o Haya Social Media Ka Ghalat Istimal

honour from the court of Allah Almighty. Let us listen to a faith-refreshing account of a modest young man to acquire the Madani pearls found therein, so that we can act upon them.

Undoubtedly, I have been blessed with 2 Paradises

During the blessed era of the second Caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, there was a very pious young man who would worship abundantly, to such an extent that even Sayyiduna ‘Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ would express amazement upon his [acts of] worship. After offering Salat al-‘Isha in the Masjid, that young man would go to serve his old father. On the way, a beautiful woman used to call him towards herself, but the young man would pass through without paying any attention to her with his gaze lowered.

Eventually, one day, falling prey to the whispers of Satan and the invitation of that woman, the young man went in pursuit of her with an evil intention. However, as soon as he reached the doorstep, he recalled the following blessed saying of Allah Almighty:

اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّقَوۡا اِذَا مَسَّہُمۡ طٰٓئِفٌ مِّنَ الشَّیۡطٰنِ تَذَکَّرُوۡا فَاِذَا ھُمۡ مُّبۡصِرُوۡنَ (۲۰۱

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: Indeed, those who fear (Allah), whenever a temptation from the Devil touches them, they become alert; and at that very moment, their eyes open-up.[1]

As soon as he recalled this blessed verse, the fear of Allah Almighty dominated his heart to such an extent that he fell on the ground unconscious. Since much time had passed without him arriving home, his old father went in search of him, and having arrived there, he brought him home with the help of people.

When he regained consciousness, his father inquired the reason for him losing consciousness. Upon this, the young man mentioned the entire incident. While doing so, when he recalled the above-mentioned verse, once again, the fear of Allah Almighty overwhelmed him. He let out a loud scream and passed away.

Arrangements for his ghusl, shrouding and burial were made on the same night. In the morning, this incident was relayed to Sayyiduna ‘Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, so he went to his father to offer condolences and said to him, “Why did you not inform us last night? We too would have participated in the funeral.” He replied, “Whilst being mindful of your rest, we did not feel it appropriate to do so.” He رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ said, “Take me to his grave.” Upon reaching the grave, he recited the 46th verse of Surah Al-Rahman, part 27:

وَ  لِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ  رَبِّہٖ  جَنَّتٰنِ (ۚ۴۶)

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: And the one who fears standing in the Majestic Court of his Lord, for him are two Paradises (i.e. Jannah 'Adn and Jannah Na'eem).[2]

Upon this, the young man loudly proclaimed from the grave, “O Leader of the believers! Indeed, my Lord Almighty has blessed me with two Paradises.”[3]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

O devotees of the awliya! You just heard about the firm mindset possessed by the righteous slaves of Allah Almighty with regard to abstaining from immodesty in their youth, such that they would spend most of their time in performing acts of worship and serving their parents. These people would always remain wary of satanic traps. That is why, despite having the power to commit sin, they would protect their eyes and safeguard their pure character from being tainted by immodest activities.
