Sharm o Haya Social Media Ka Ghalat Istimal

Book Name:Sharm o Haya Social Media Ka Ghalat Istimal

‘Aaishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا, the noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Shall I not observe modesty before whom even the angels observe modesty.”[1]

The above-mentioned hadith mentions the cloth being lifted from the blessed thigh. Whilst explaining this, Hakeem-ul-Ummat, Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan Na’eemi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states, “It does not mean that the blessed thigh was completely uncovered. It can also mean that the kameez [long shirt] was removed from the blessed thigh, but it was still covered with the tahband [lower garment].”[2]

O devotees of the Companions and Prophetic Household! What can be said about the modesty of the third Caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān b. ꜤAffān رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ that even the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم used to observe modesty before him. He possessed excellent qualities, to the extent that even during the [pre-Islamic] era of ignorance, he stayed away from many evils.

He says about himself:

Neither did I ever hum useless couplets, nor did I ever desire to do so. I never consumed alcohol in the [pre-Islamic] era of ignorance, nor during the period of Islam. And ever since I pledged allegiance to the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, I have not touched my private part with my right hand.[3]

Modesty of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم

O devotees of the Prophet! Just ponder! When this is the level of modesty found within a Companion of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, then what can be said regarding the modesty of the most modest Prophet  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم himself!

Regarding the modesty of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, the renowned companion, Sayyiduna Abu Sa’eed Khudri رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ states, “The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would be more modest than a virgin girl who displays bashfulness in her chamber.”[4]

In the commentary of this Hadith, Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan Na’eemi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states:

When an unmarried girl is about to get married, she is made to sit in one corner of the house. In Urdu, this tradition is called mayun. During this time, the girl is extremely shy and even observes modesty before her own family members. She does not talk to anyone openly. The modesty of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was even greater than this. Modesty is a unique quality of a person. The stronger the iman [faith], the higher the (level of) modesty will be.[5]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers, the more distant we become from the Prophetic era, the more we are falling into the pits of ignorance and immodesty. Along with other evils, the destruction of unveiling, immodesty, and unlawful gazing have brought our society to the brink of destruction and devastation.
