Book Name:Hazrat Ayesha Ki Ilmi Shan
Discussing the glory and dignity of the learned people in the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty has stated:
Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: Proclaim, ‘Are the knowledgeable and the ignorant equal? It is only the men of intellect who heed advice.’[1]
The blessed Hadith are full of the virtues of Islamic knowledge. Let’s listen to 9 sayings of the final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم regarding this:
1. A scholar is an evidence and proof of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ on earth.[2]
2. Verily, the example of scholars upon the earth is like the stars used to attain guidance amidst the darkness of the universe. When these stars become dim, then it is near that the people who are guided and righteous will fall into misguidance.[3]
3. Even a little action with knowledge is beneficial, but a lot of action done with ignorance brings about no benefit.[4]
Knowledge is the life of Islam and a pillar of the religion.[5]
Whoever keeps seeking knowledge, Allah Almighty becomes the guarantor of his livelihood.[6]
