sad state that we do not have time to learn the essential matters of the religion, whereas, for worldly matters, we have all the time in the world. Hours are spent in reading newspapers, watching, listening to and reading the news. It has become such a habit to sit in restaurants and squares all night. 2. It was stated, ‘Indeed, amongst people, some are the people of Allah.’ The Blessed Companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم requested, ‘O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, who are those people?’ He stated, ‘The ones who recite the Qur’an as these very people are amongst the people of Allah and distinguished ones.’ (Ibn-e-Majah, vol. 1, p. 140, Hadees 215)
