dislike the world and the one who does not dislike the world, cannot become a beloved of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. (Qoot-ul-Quloob, vol. 1, pp. 195) Perhaps it is for this reason that our pious predecessors رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَالٰی had the mind-set of refraining stinginess and were very generous.

Give charity (Sadaqah) in every state

Ameer-ul-Mu`mineen, Sayyiduna ‘Ali-ul-Murtada کَـرَّمَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی وَجۡـھَـهُ الۡـکَـرِیۡم has stated: If you obtain worldly wealth, spend some of it, because by spending, it would not decrease even if you begin to lose it, still spend some of it as it is not supposed to remain with you. (Ihya-ul-‘Uloom, vol. 3, pp. 738)

Generosity & kindness are from Iman

Sayyiduna Huzayfah رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ has stated: Many sinners of the Deen and miserable, helpless people will enter Jannah due to their generosity.

(Ihya-ul-‘Uloom, vol. 3, pp. 740)

A time will come

Ameer-ul-Mu`mineen, Sayyiduna ‘Ali-ul-Murtada کَـرَّمَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی وَجۡـھَـهُ الۡـکَـرِیۡم said in his sermon: Soon a time will come upon people in which the rich will hold their wealth tightly, though they have not been commanded for this thing. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has said:

وَ لَا  تَنۡسَوُ ا  الۡفَضۡلَ   بَیۡنَکُمۡ  ؕ

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: And do not forget the favours to each other.

Curse for the miser and Du’a for the generous

Sayyiduna Ka’b-ul-Ahbaar رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has said: Two angels have been appointed upon every morning who call out, ‘O Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ! Quickly destroy the wealth
