The companions of the beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ are very fortunate personalities of Islam. All the companions of the beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ are superior to the rest of the Ummah. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ praises them in the Holy Quran mentions their good character, and beauty of their faith (Eman). Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ pleased with these blessed personalities.
Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ says in the Holy
Quran:
Allah is pleased
with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has kept ready for them Gardens
beneath which rivers flow, to abide in it for ever and ever; this only is the
great success.

Translation of Quran)
Absolutely the
companions of Holy Prophet
وَسَلَّمَ are most
respectful people and every one of us should love and respect them. One of the noble companions of the beloved
Rasool is Hazrat Sayyiduna Ameer Muawiya رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ let us read about
this great personality in few lines.
Blessed Birth:
Hazrat Ameer
five years before the proclamation of Prophet hood of our beloved Rasool Hazrat
His father was Hazrat Abu Sufyan
عَنْہُ and his mother was
Both of
them converted to Islam at the conquest of Makkah. They loved the Prophet of
وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ a lot after their
acceptance of Islam.
Blessed
Personality:
Hazrat Ameer
Muawiya رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was tall in
stature and attractive in appearance. His complexion was fear, and beautiful.
His personality was awesome. Hazrat Sayyiduna Umarرَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ used to look upon
him and say, “this is the Caisar of the Arabs.
عَنْہُ was most
forbearing and lenient, merciful, wealthy and head of the people. The signs of
his nobility and determination were visible from his early childhood. His
father Abu Sufyanرَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ often said that
his child will lead the nations as he has a great wisdom. Hazrat Ameer
Muawiya رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was very humble in
nature. He رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ did not like
people to stand up in his respect as shown in the following narration:
Abu Mijlaz said:
Muawiyah went out to Ibn az-Zubayr رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ and Ibn Amir رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی
Ibn Amir got up and Ibn az-Zubayr remained sitting. Mu'awiyah
said to Ibn Amir: Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of Allah
عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ says: Let him who
likes people to stand up before him prepares his place in Hell.
عَنْہُ wrote a letter to
Sayyidatuna Ayesha Siddiqa رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْھَا and requested her
for an advice. This act of Ameer Muawiya رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ is a symbol of his
humbleness and gives us a guidance to ask others for advice. He was very brave
person and He رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ took part in many
battles after embracing Islam and fought very bravely in all of them.
He رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was also very kind
to people and he was most kind among the caliphs.
عَنْہُ was very generous.
He رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ had a strong grip
on the rulings of Islamic shariah.

Love for the
Beloved Rasool:

very much. It is famous that he رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ bought a robe from
sun of Kaab bin Zuhair رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ after his death
which was given him by beloved Rasool
Hazrat Ameer Muawiya رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ had a shirt, a
robe, some hair and nails belonged to beloved Rasool

His Caliphate:
Hazrat Ameer
after Hazrat Imam Hassan The rules of his caliphate are guidelines for other leaders to
lead successfully. Some of these are to order to do good, fulfilling promises,
love for rituals of Allah, understanding of problems and their solutions,
taking benefit from experience of others, respect of advice, generosity and
doing good for the dependents.
Blessed Demise:
Hazrat Ameer

where there are the graves of many other companions of beloved Prophet
