Surah Ar Rad Ayat 30 Translation Tafseer

Para 13 - وَ مَاۤ اُبَرِّئُ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

13.30

كَذٰلِكَ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ فِیْۤ اُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهَاۤ اُمَمٌ لِّتَتْلُوَاۡ عَلَیْهِمُ الَّذِیْۤ اَوْحَیْنَاۤ اِلَیْكَ وَ هُمْ یَكْفُرُوْنَ بِالرَّحْمٰنِؕ-قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّیْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ-عَلَیْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ اِلَیْهِ مَتَابِ(30)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

Thus, We have sent you in this nation, before whom many nations have passed on, that you may recite to them that which We have revealed to you while they are disbelieving in the Infinitely Merciful.[1] Say, “He is my Lord, there is none worthy of worship except Him. I have placed my trust in Him alone, and to Him alone is my return.”

This verse was revealed during the Treaty of Hudaybiyah; when Suhayl ibn ‘Amr brought the agreement and the writing began, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم instructed Sayyidunā ‘Ālī رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ: “Write ‘بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیمْ’ (In the Name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful).” The disbelievers expressed their disapproval of this wording stating that their customary expression ‘بِاِسْمِکَ اللّٰھُمَّ’ (In Your Name, O Allah) should be written. The verse refers to this denial of “the Infinitely Gracious”.
