Surah Al Hujurat Ayat 9 Translation Tafseer

Para 26 - حٰمٓ

سورة الحجرت

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

49.9

وَ اِنْ طَآىٕفَتٰنِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اقْتَتَلُوْا فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَیْنَهُمَاۚ-فَاِنْۢ بَغَتْ اِحْدٰىهُمَا عَلَى الْاُخْرٰى فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِیْ تَبْغِیْ حَتّٰى تَفِیْٓءَ اِلٰۤى اَمْرِ اللّٰهِۚ-فَاِنْ فَآءَتْ فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَیْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَ اَقْسِطُوْاؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ یُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِیْنَ(9)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And if two Muslim groups fight one another, [1] then make peace between them. [2] So if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the transgressors until they return to the Command of Allah. Then if they return, make peace between them equitably and be just. Indeed Allah loves the just.

Commentary

Fighting is a sin, but here both groups have been referred to as believers which proves that a believer does not lose his faith by committing a major sin.

Reconciling between Muslims is a Sunnah of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and an elevated form of worship. However, it is only permissible to perform such a reconciliation which is within the boundaries of ShariꜤah, whereas carrying out such a reconciliation which renders an unlawful act as lawful and vice versa is impermissible.
