Book Name:Islam is a Complete Code of Life
Prophets عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام, Ṣiddīqīn and martyrs رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـه (on Judgement Day).[1]
Commenting on the second blessed hadith, Mufti Aḥmad Yār Khān NaꜤīmī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـه عَـلَيْه said:
It is learnt that business is superior to all professions. Amongst the profession of trade, dealing in grain is the most superior trade, then clothing and then dealing in fragrance. Trade related to the necessities of life and religion is better than other types of trades. A truthful Muslim businessman is a very fortunate person because he attains the privilege of being raised with the blessed Prophets عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام and Awliya رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـه. (While explaining about how a businessman will be with the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام, Ṣiddīqīn and blessed martyrs رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـه, the honourable Mufti states:) This closeness will be like the closeness of the servants with their master. It does not mean that a businessman will become a Prophet. A good businessman is a king whereas a bad businessman is a transgressor.[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! You have heard that by doing trade according to Islamic Law, businessmen attain great blessings. But unfortunately, due to being distant from Islamic knowledge and the fantasising of becoming rich overnight, the noble profession of business has become a collection of evils such as lying, backbiting, tale-telling, slandering, plundering, causing harm, practising black magic, false oaths, committing unlawful gazing, breaking promises, becoming greedy, cheating, consuming usury, taking and giving bribes, earning unlawful livelihood, causing unnecessary inflation, and more.
Most likely, this is all due to turning away from Islamic teachings and essential trade rulings. In terms of business transactions or trade dealings, the period of the blessed Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم was a golden era because in that blessed era, only that individual who was a scholar and would refrain from the sin of usury
