Some Points on Reliance on Allah (Tawakkul) and Contentment (Qana'at)

Dear Islamic brothers! Come! Let us have the honour of considering some points about reliance on Allah (tawakkul) and Contentment (Qana'at). First, let us listen to two sayings of the Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم:

(1) He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: 'Contentment is a treasure that never diminishes.'[1]

(2) He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: 'Successful is the person who embraced Islam, was provided with sufficient sustenance, and Allah Almighty granted him contentment with what He gave him.'[2]

*    Contentment is to live one's life accepting whatever one receives from Allah Almighty, abandoning greed and covetousness.[3]

*    Remaining content even in the absence of everyday necessities is also contentment.[4]

*    There are three levels of reliance on Allah: (1) Trusting in the Being of Allah Almighty (2) Submitting to His command (3)
