Book Name:Dil Ki Islah Kyon Zarori Hai
* Recite this duʿā before sleeping:
اَ للّٰھُمَّ بِاسْمِکَ اَمُوْتُ وَاَحیٰ
Dear Allah! By Your name I die and live (i.e., sleep and wake up).[1]
* Do not sleep after Ꜥaṣr, as there is a fear of losing one’s intellect. The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Whoever sleeps after Ꜥaṣr and loses his intellect should only blame himself.”[2]
* It is mustaḥab (liked) to rest by performing qaylūlah (sleeping for a short while) in the afternoon.[3]
* Muftī Amjad ꜤAli al-AꜤẓamī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه writes:
This is most probably for those who remain awake at night offering salah, remembering Allah, reading religious books or studying. Sleeping for a short while like this takes away their tiredness from staying awake all night.[4]
* It is makrūh (disliked) to sleep in the beginning of the day or between maghrib and Ꜥishāˈ.[5]
