Book Name:Tazeem e Mustafa Kay Waqiaat
of this ummah, showed utmost respect for each and every hadith of the Prophet
We now come to an interesting point of discussion. It is not openly said in Quran and hadith that a person cannot narrate hadith whilst laying down. It is also not said that one must perform ghusl or wudu before writing and narrating them. Nor is it said one must apply fragrance, wear new clothes, and sit on a special chair, etc. Then why did these illustrious personalities go to these great lengths in showing respect to the Prophet
Giants of this ummah like Sa’īd bin Musayyab, Imam Mālik and Imam Bukhāri رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْهمَا were fully aware of shari’ah, its rulings and correct Islamic belief. Even today, their names are famously well known, and the entire world says nothing but good about them.
All the lengths they went to was out of respect for the blessed hadith of the Prophet Their actions in this regard openly clarify that every permissible and commendable form of showing respect for the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم does not need to be individually specified beforehand. Every single permissible form of respect can be shown, even if an order for this was not openly issued by Allah and His Messenger In essence, every permissible way in which respect of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is shown is completely allowed.
Dear Islamic brothers, another facet of respecting the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is to respect anything that has a link or connection with him.
Writing a separate detailed chapter on this very subject, ‘Allamah Qāḍi ‘Īyāḍ Māliki رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه elaborates by saying:
