wellbeing. This is because illnesses are an expiation for sins, and some common illnesses are protection from fatal diseases.
Mufti Jalal ul-Din Amjadi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states: Illness causes difficulty, but it is a great blessing in reality. It is a means of gaining eternal serenity. These apparent illnesses are an excellent way of treating spiritual diseases as long as the believer is patient and thankful during severe illness. If you are impatient and weep and wail, you will gain no benefit and be deprived of virtue. Some ignorant individuals say ridiculous things during illness and some even utter statements of disbelief. This is a cause of destruction in this world and the Hereafter. وَالْعِیَاذُ بِاللّٰہِ.[1]
Remember, you can only acquire the virtues of being ill if you remain patient and refrain from wailing and complaining. Sayyiduna ‘Ata bin Yasaar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ reports that when a person falls ill, Allah sends two angels to him and states, “Observe what he says to those who visit him.” If he praises Allah in their presence, the angels convey this to Allah, even though Allah is the All-Knowing. Allah Almighty states, “My bondsman has a right over Me that I admit him into Paradise. If I cure him, I will replace his flesh with better flesh and remove his sins.”[2]
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, weddings and other occasions of happiness are a great blessing from Allah, but do we know how to spend these moments of joy in the correct manner? How should we thank Allah for bestowing such blessings upon us? What allows us to refrain from useless acts on these occasions so we can be truly thankful for the favours of Allah? Here are some Madani pearls in relation to this. Whilst being thankful for the moments of happiness, we must avoid disobeying Allah.
