صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, Allah Almighty has blessed us with what we need to live our lives. Thousands of things to eat or drink are all bounties from Allah. Clothes to shield our bodies from heat and protect us from cold are all bounties from Allah. Modes of transport we use to travel far and wide are all bounties from Allah. When we take a closer look, we find that even one bounty of Allah contains thousands upon thousands more within it. Every bounty is a compilation of many more.
How incredibly regretful and sad is it to see how ungrateful we have become. If we do not get one thing we want due to the wisdom of Allah Almighty, we begin to forget all of His other bounties and blessings upon us. We immediately complain, become upset and ungrateful. As soon as the smallest of illnesses or problems come, we begin to say things like, “So-and-so is well off, and so-and-so is enjoying their life. Who knows what we did wrong for every problem and worry to come to us!”
In the same way, if we suffer a minor loss in business, we do not remain satisfied until we have explained our problems to someone and complained. If someone has a motorbike, they do not show thanks for it, but instead desire a car. They may even resort to committing haram to acquire a car. People who suffer from physical disabilities also fall into ungratefulness. If a person is deprived of provision for a day or two during his poverty, he expresses impatience. However, they should consider the thousands of other bounties they have in their possession apart from food. Our pious predecessors would offer advice in this regard and reform people in commendable and effective ways. Let us find out more about this.
