صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                            صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! What deep respect our pious predecessors رَحْمَۃُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَیْہِمْ اَجْمَعِیْن  would show towards their elders! Shaykh-e-Tareeqat, Ameer e Ahl e Sunnat, the founder of Dawat-e-Islami, ‘Allamah Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri Razavi Ziyai دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـه has mentioned a narration on page no. 4 of his booklet Samundari Gumbad [Oceanic dome]”. Pay full attention whilst listening to this, and you will see the unimaginable effect a mother’s Du’a has.

Respect of mother

Sayyiduna Bayazid Bistami رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه said,

During a bitterly cold night, my mother asked me to bring her water. I filled a glass and returned with it, only to find her asleep. Not feeling it appropriate to wake her up, I then stood near her, waiting for her to awaken. I stood for quite a while, whilst some water had spilled over my finger and froze, turning into ice in the meantime.

When my noble mother woke up, I presented her the glass of water. My finger had become stuck to the glass, due to the water spilling out and freezing. As I detached my finger from the glass, its skin came off, causing it to bleed. Seeing this, my mother asked, ‘What happened?’ Relaying the entire story to her, she then raised her hands and made du’a, ‘O Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ! I am pleased with him. You also remain pleased with him!’

Dear Islamic brothers! Have you realised how beautifully Sayyiduna Bayazid Bistami رَحْمَةُ الله عَلَيْه showed respect towards his mother? He did not consider it appropriate to wake her up from her sleep, and spent the entire night
