2. Learning the Du’a: 5 minutes
3. Accountability: 5 minutes
4. Total duration: 15 minutes
Remaining Sunnahs and sneezing
1. It is Sunnah to say اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه after sneezing. It is better to say اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ And it is Wajib for the listener to say یَرْحَمُكَ اللّٰہ (i.e. may Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ have mercy upon you) immediately in an audible voice so that the one who sneezed can hear. If he delays in replying, he will become a sinner; the sin will not be forgiven by merely replying, he has to repent as well. (Bahar-e-Shari’at, part 16, p. 102)
2. Upon hearing یَرْحَمُكَ اللّٰہ, the person who sneezed should say: یَغْفِرُ اللّٰہُ لَنَا وَلَـکُمْ (i.e. may Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ forgive us and you) or say: یَہْدِیْکُمُ اللّٰہُ وَ یُصْلِحُ بَالَـکُمْ (i.e. may Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ guide and reform you). (Al-Fatawa Hindiyyah, vol. 5, p. 326)
