guidance. The thing to ponder about is that Imam Abu Yusuf رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه attained this position because Imam-e-A’zam رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه sponsored and taught him, then Imam Abu Yusuf رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه further taught Imam Muhammad رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه. Imam Muhammad رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه is the teacher of Imam Shaafi’i رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه. Imam Shaafi’i رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه taught Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه. Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه taught Imam Bukhari رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه. Imam Bukhari رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه produced many disciples and so on and so forth and this series continued to this day and اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه it will continue until the Day of Judgement. If we think about it, then all these blessings can be attributed to Sayyiduna Imam-e-A’zam رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه and he is entitled to all of this reward as he enlightened Imam Abu Yusuf رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه with the light of the knowledge of Islam and spent his wealth on him too.

A’la Hadrat’s way of spending on the students of religious knowledge

Dear Islamic Brothers! It was also the blessed custom of A’la Hadrat رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه that he used to spend a lot of money on the students who were obtaining the knowledge of Islam and he was very kind and generous to them. On happy occasions during the days of Eid, he would get new clothes for them and various kinds of food were prepared and fed to them. Arab food for Arab students, Russian food for Russian students, and Bengali food for Bengali students. In summary, whatever food was favoured by each student, he would have that cooked and fed to them; this would make him happy.  (Sawanih-e-A’la Hadrat, p. 142 Summarised)

اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه Dawat-e-Islami also provides excellent arrangements of food for the students of Jami’ah-tul-Madinah, in fact all kinds of facilities are taken care of for them. Thus, fully cooperate with Dawat-e-Islami in this good deed as well.

What should we spend on?

Dear Islamic brothers! In this incident, we are being guided on how to spend our wealth in the way of Allah Almighty so that we may be rewarded and the Muslim Ummah may be benefitted also.

If our financial share is also included in someone becoming a religious scholar, then its benefits are many and it will also last for a long time; even if we call this sawab-e-Jariyah (continuous reward), it will be correct. Just
