Book Name:Rizq Main Tangi Kay Asbab

The extra amount or thing received as usury is not an exchange of anything in a financial deal, i.e. the usurer gives nothing in exchange for the extra amount he has received. Hence, it is grave injustice.

Usury [i.e. interest] ruins trading and business. The usurer [i.e. interest-taker] considers it very easy to obtain wealth without making any effort instead of investing his money in business and trade which also involves risks. And lack of business and trade affects economy.

Trend of usury affects mutual affection. When a person becomes habitual of receiving interest, he does not like to help anyone by lending him any money without interest.

Usury makes a person crueller than even beasts. The usurer wishes that his debtor be ruined. In addition, usury causes grave loss. If Shari’ah forbids anything, there is certainly wisdom behind it.
