The Status of Rasoolullah in the Court of Allah

There is no doubt in the fact that the Noble Messenger of Allah عزوجل, the Prophet of Rahmah, the intercessor of Ummah, Sayyiduna Muhammad صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم holds a distinct rank in the court of Almighty Allah عزوجل. Almighty Allah عزوجل has chosen him as the last Messenger, granted him supremacy over all the other Prophets, praised him in His divine words i.e. the Holy Quran, described his magnificence, majesty and brilliance in the Glorious Quran and declared his blessed personality, character and life a shining example for all mankind to follow. Almighty Allah عزوجل himself describes his eminence in the Holy Quran in the following words:

هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاءُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ تَرَاهُمْ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانًا ۖ سِيمَاهُمْ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ مِنْ أَثَرِ السُّجُودِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ ۚ وَمَثَلُهُمْ فِي الْإِنْجِيلِ كَزَرْعٍ أَخْرَجَ شَطْأَهُ فَآزَرَهُ فَاسْتَغْلَظَ فَاسْتَوَىٰ عَلَىٰ سُوقِهِ يُعْجِبُ الزُّرَّاعَ لِيَغِيظَ بِهِمُ الْكُفَّارَ ۗ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ مِنْهُمْ مَغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

“It is He Who has sent His Noble Messenger with the guidance and the true religion, in order to make it prevail over all other religions; and Allah is sufficient as a Witness. Muhammad is the Noble Messenger of Allah; and his companions are stern with the disbelievers and merciful among themselves - you will see them bowing and falling in prostration, seeking Allah’s munificence and His pleasure; their signs are on their faces, from the effects of prostrations; this trait of theirs is mentioned in the Taurat; and their trait is mentioned in the Injeel; like a cultivation that sprouted its shoot, then strengthened it, then thickened and then stood firm upon its stem, pleasing the farmer - in order to enrage the disbelievers with them; Allah has promised forgiveness and a great reward to those among them who have faith and do good deeds.”

(Fath 48: 28, 29)

Almighty Allah عزوجل also stated that:

لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ

“Allah has indeed bestowed a great favor upon the Muslims, in that He sent to them a Noble Messenger from among them, who recites to them His verses, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom.”

(AaI-e-Imran 3:164)

Almighty Allah عزوجل further made it clear that:

الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالْأَغْلَالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِهِ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ مَعَهُ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

"Those who will obey this Noble Messenger who is untutored, whom they will find mentioned in the Taurat and the Injeel with them; he will command them to do good and forbid them from wrong, and he will make lawful for them the good clean things and prohibit the foul for them, and he will unburden the loads and the neck-chains which were upon them; so those who believe in him, and revere him, and help him, and follow the light which came down with him - it is they who have succeeded."

(A’raf 7:157)

Almighty Allah عزوجل describes his blessed speech in the following words:

وَمَا يَنْطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ

“And he does not say anything by his own desire. It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him.”

(Najm 53:3, 4)

Then, Almighty Allah عزوجل introduces the blessed traits and magnificence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم to His bondmen in the following glorious words:

لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ

“Indeed there has come to you a Noble Messenger from among you - your falling into hardship aggrieves him, most concerned for your well being, for the Muslims most compassionate, most merciful.”

(Taubah 9:128)

النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَىٰ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ۖ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ

“The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers.”

(Ahzab 33:6)

Then He ordered the people to follow and obey His righteous Messenger, the Noble Prophet صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم in the following way:

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ

“Indeed, you have an excellent example in the Messenger of Allah.”

(Ahzab 33:21)

وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا ۚ

“And accept whatever the Noble Messenger gives you; and refrain from whatever he forbids you.”

(Hashr 59:7)

مَنْ يُطِعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ

“Whoever obeys the Noble Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah.”

(Nisa 4:80)

وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا

“And whoever obeys Allah and His Noble Messenger, has indeed achieved a great success.”

(Ahzab 33:71)

Then, Almighty Allah عزوجل addresses His Noble Messenger in these most compassionate beautiful words:

يس وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

“Yaa-Seen, by oath of the wise Qur’an, you (O dear Prophet Muhammad) are indeed one of the Noble Messengers; on the Straight Path.”

(Yaa-Seen 36:1-4)

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُنِيرًا

“O Herald of the Hidden! We have indeed sent you as a witness and a Herald of glad tidings and warning and as a caller towards Allah, by His command, and as a sun that enlightens.”

(Ahzab 33:45-46)

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ

“And We did not send you (O dear Prophet Muhammad) except as a mercy for the entire world.”

(Ambiya 21:107)

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

“And indeed you possess an exemplary character.”

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ

“And We exalted your remembrance for you.”

(Al-Inshirah 94:4)

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ

“And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased.”

(Duha 93:5)

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ

“And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an.”

(Hijr 15:87)

Then, Almighty Allah عزوجل announces to His bondmen His immense bounty and favor bestowed upon His entire creation in the form of the final Messenger صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم:

الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا

“This day, I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favor upon you, and have chosen Islam as your religion.”

Then Almighty Allah عزوجل expresses His love and admiration for this great benefactor of humanity in the following words:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

“Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet; O People who believe! Send blessings and abundant salutations upon him.”

(Ahzab 33:56)

May Almighty Allah عزوجل send everlasting peace and unlimited blessings upon the Holy Prophet of mercy صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and enable us to follow his blessed example and act upon his glorious Sunnah!
