Dajjal - The Biggest Fitnah of the World

Dear Islamic brothers! It is in many statements of the beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ that near the day of Qiyamah, among many other fitnahs (trials, corruptions), a Fitnah of maseeh Dajjal will also appear. In order to make the believers well aware of the fitnah, the beloved Prophet Muhammad صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ would mention him in different occasions and gatherings. He would seek refuge and protection of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ from Dajjal even in his prayers. His dua used to be with following words:

)اللھم انی) اعوذ بک من فتنۃ المسیح الدجال

O my Lord! I seek your refuge from the evils of Dajjal.

The above mentioned Dua is sufficient enough to make us realize the graveness of this near-qiyamah-fitnah. Because it is a very important issue, the ulama of Islam have mentioned it in their books with full detail. Here we are mentioning few important points related to this issue from the book Bahar-e-Shariat written by Hazrat Molana Amjad Ali Aazami عَلَیْہِ رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ القَوِی.

• With the exception of Haramain Sharifain (Makkah and Madinah), Dajjal will travel the entire world in forty days. The first day will be equivalent to one year, the second day will be equivalent to one month, the third day equivalent to one week and the rest of the days shall all be of twenty four hours each.

• He will travel with great swiftness, like the strong winds steer the clouds. His fitna (corruption) will be very potent.

• He will have with him a garden and a huge fire. He will refer to his garden as Jannat and his fire as Jahanum. These will go with him where ever he goes.

• That which looks like a garden, will be fire and that which seems like fire, will be a garden.

• He will claim to be God.

• He will enter all those who bring faith in him into his garden and he will enter all those who reject him into his fire.

• He will bring the dead back to life, He will command barren land to grow lush vegetation, He will cause it to rain, He will cause the livestock to become healthy.

• He will try to enter Makkah and Madinah, and the Angels appointed by Almighty Allah will turn him away from this direction.

• The word 'Kaafir' will be engraved on his forehead. All true Muslims will see this clearly, but the non-believers will not be able to see this.

• After travelling the world, he will go to Syria. At this time, Hazrat Isa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام will descend on the Eastern Minaret of the Jaame Masjid of Damascus.

• It will be early in the morning. The Iqaamat for Namaaz-e-Fajr would have already been called out. Hazrat Imam Mahdi عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام will be present in this Jamaat. Hazrat Isa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام will command him to lead the Fajr Namaaz. Hazrat Imam Mahdi عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام will lead the congregation and Dajaal will start melting through the fragrant breath of Hazrat Isa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام, like salt melts in water.

• This fragrant scent of Hazrat Isa's عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام breath will spread as far as the eye can see. He will flee and Hazrat Isa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام will pursue him, and throw a spear into his back, sending him towards the fire of hell.

And in this way this fitnah will come to an end on the hands of Prophet Isa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام. May Almighty Allah عَزَّ وَجَل save us from the evils of Dajjal! Ameen
