the scholars, you will go astray.”[1]

What is the reason he holds such profound love for Islamic scholars and insists upon their respect and honour with such emphasis? He دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ explains:

1. These scholars are the true heirs and successors of the Prophets عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام. The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:

إِنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَرَثَةُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ

“Indeed, the scholars are the heirs of the Prophets.”[2]

2. These scholars are the ones who invite people towards the religion of Islam.

3. These scholars are the guardians of Islamic beliefs.

4. These scholars are the ones who truly introduce Allah Almighty and His Beloved صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to people.

5. These scholars teach respect for the noble Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم.

6. These scholars teach love for the Ahl al-Bayt رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم.

7. These scholars derive Shariah-based solutions to issues.

8. These scholars explain the rulings of purity and impurity.

9. These scholars clarify the difference between cleanliness and filth.

10. These scholars teach the rulings of ghusl, shrouding, and burial.

11. It is the scholars who run madāris, jāmiꜤāt, and masājid.
