Ikhtiyarat e Mustafa

Book Name:Ikhtiyarat e Mustafa

instructed the person to eat it himself, which sufficed as expiation. Truly, this is the mercy of the Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ , which transforms punishment into reward.

A single glance from the Prophetصَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ can turn major sins into rewards, which is why Allah guides the sinful and the wrongdoers to his door: وَ لَوۡ اَنَّہُمۡ اِذۡ ظَّلَمُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَہُمۡ جَآءُوۡکَ And if, when they had wronged themselves ˹Dear Beloved Prophet˺, they came to your court.[1]

Those who commit sins, when they come to his door seeking forgiveness from Allah, they will find Allah Most Merciful and accepting of their repentance."[2]

The Prophet’s صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  authority in matters of testimony

Allah commanded that in matters of mutual financial transactions, two men be made witnesses. This is stated in the 282nd verse of Surah al-Baqarah:

وَ اسۡتَشۡہِدُوۡا شَہِیۡدَیۡنِ مِنۡ رِّجَالِکُمۡ ۚ

And make two witnesses from your men,[3]

From this, it is understood that the testimony of just one man is not acceptable in Islamic for any transaction. This is Allah’s command for all Muslims. The Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ , by the authority given to him by Allah, exempted the Companion Khuzaymah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ  from this general rule, making the Companion’s single testimony the equivalent of two men.
