continued until battle broke out on the morning of 10th Muharram, before which the great Imam delivered another khutbah. Even at that time, he still presented the Yazidi army with an invitation to righteousness and instructed them to refrain from their oppressive, unjust behaviour.

اللہُ اَکْبَر! Imam Husayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ called the oppressive Yazidis towards righteousness on the plains of Karbala. Is it then not a right upon those who call themselves Husayni to spread this call to righteousness far and wide? Is it not a right upon the servants of Imam Husayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ to carry on this blessed practice of his? Is it not rightful for them to oppose and battle against the rising storm of sins?

As we look around us, immodesty is spreading fast. Islam, its teachings, Quran and hadith are increasingly neglected or ignored entirely. Should those who call themselves Husayni not sacrifice their time and wealth in order to spread the call to righteousness far and wide? Should they not sacrifice their time and wealth to help in the forbidding of evil? Should they not come forward into the field of physical action?

O devotees of Imam Husayn! We are Husayni without doubt. As servants of the illustrious Imam, it certainly becomes a right upon us to learn lessons from the pure life of Imam Husayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ. It also becomes a right upon us to call others towards righteousness and forbid evil with wisdom. We must do so whilst following the Quran, sunnah, and remaining within the boundaries of shariah.

This is the lesson taught to us by Karbala and the noble character of Imam Husayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ.

    Pious Deed number 3
